‘Dreams of a Life’ is filmmaker Carol Morley’s study of the life of Joyce Vincent; a woman who died in a London bedsit in 2003 and lay undiscovered for three years.
Using interviews and imaginary scenes from Vincent’s life, the documentary explores the circumstances that lead to a person being completely alone in a city of over 8 million people.
Using the sounds and sights of eighties London as a backdrop, ‘Dreams of a Life’ is a touching portrait of a woman who seemingly didn’t exist.
Contains brief moderate sex references and references to domestic abuse.
